Isidingo Actress Lesego Motsepe Dies at 39 After 15-year Struggle with HIV/AIDS

Her family confirmed that the actress passed away of natural causes at her home in Randburg.

The actress, motivational speaker and AIDS ambassador died at the age of 39.

On World AIDS Day 2011 (December 1) Lesego Motsepe announced that she had been living with HIV since 1998.

She stopped her antiretroviral therapy against her doctor's advice in July 2012. Motsepe stated that she was switching to a "holistic regimen" of meditation and a diet of beetroot and garlic because she couldn't bear the thought of taking HIV meds for the rest of her life.

She is survived by her family and friends.

R.I.P.,

Amen.
